Doctor to Face Murder Charges After Wife, Son Found Dead in JB Home
A 33-year-old medical doctor is set to be charged with murder following the deaths of his wife and four-year-old son at their residence in Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor Bahru. The incident, which occurred on December 31 last year, has led to a comprehensive police investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad confirmed that the suspect, a locally practising doctor, will face charges at the Magistrate’s Court. The victims, a 36-year-old accountant and her young son, were found with severe slash wounds to the neck and signs of asphyxia, indicating a criminal act. Post-mortem examinations at Sultan Ismail Hospital revealed the woman died from asphyxia, while the boy succumbed to smothering. The suspect was arrested on January 3 by investigators from the state serious crime division and the Johor Bahru South criminal investigation division. His remand order is set to expire, allowing for formal charges to proceed. In addition to murder, he will be charged under Section 201 of the Penal Code for concealing evidence and Section 186 for obstructing public duties.
