Florida road near Mar-a-Lago ceremonially renamed after Donald Trump

WEST PALM BEACH, Jan 15 — A Florida roadway near former U.S. President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago club has been ceremonially renamed in his honor, state lawmakers confirmed.

The honorary name change applies to a section of Southern Boulevard linking Palm Beach International Airport to Trump's property.

"I'll remember this amazing gesture for the rest of my life," Trump said during an event at Mar-a-Lago.

Local county commissioners stated the change does not affect official addresses, emergency systems, or government maps.

The road is frequently used by presidential motorcades when Trump travels between the airport and his club.

Since returning to office a year ago, Trump's name has been attached to numerous buildings, programs, and initiatives.

These include a proposed new class of Navy warships and a visa initiative for affluent foreign nationals.

Historians view the trend as an attempt to cement his legacy, while opposition has surfaced over other renamings.

In a separate event, Trump accepted a Nobel Peace Prize medal from Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee stated the prize cannot be transferred, shared, or revoked.
