HELP University Supports PM's Call for Fast Probe into Campus Blast
HELP University has expressed its support for the Prime Minister's call for a prompt and comprehensive investigation into the air-conditioning explosion at its Bukit Damansara campus. The incident, which occurred last week, resulted in injuries to several students and a supervisor. In an official statement, the university affirmed its full cooperation with authorities, the building owner, and the management company to ascertain the cause and review all safety measures. The explosion took place on January 12 in the Level 4 cafeteria during routine maintenance, when an air conditioner compressor malfunctioned. According to Kuala Lumpur police and the Fire and Rescue Department, the blast damaged nearly one-third of the floor and injured multiple individuals. The university reported that two students remain hospitalized and are receiving medical care, while two others have been discharged. Additionally, six other affected individuals have also been released from medical facilities. HELP University emphasized its commitment to maintaining close contact with the injured students, staff, and their families, pledging ongoing support throughout their recovery. The institution also acknowledged the widespread compassion and concern from the public, expressing gratitude for the support extended by students, families, and colleagues both locally and internationally. This response underscores the university's dedication to ensuring safety and transparency in the aftermath of the incident.
