Home Ministry: MyNIISe Users Must Obtain MyDigital ID by January 15 to Continue Accessing App
**Home Ministry Announces Integration of MyDigital ID for Faster Immigration Clearance** PUTRAJAYA, Jan 14 — The Home Ministry has issued a reminder to Malaysian travellers using the MyNIISe application at the Johor-Singapore border: registration for a MyDigital ID is required by tomorrow, January 15, to maintain access to the fast-track immigration system. This new integration will take effect immediately for all new users of the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) app starting Tuesday. Existing MyNIISe users will be granted a grace period. They may continue to log in using their current methods until the application's trial phase concludes on February 28, providing additional time to complete their MyDigital ID registration. The ministry emphasised that travellers who do not use the MyNIISe app will not be affected. Standard immigration clearance options remain available, including the MyBorderPass autogate, regular passport-scanning autogates, and manual inspection counters. **Enhanced Security and Future Features** MyDigital ID serves as a secure digital key, verifying a user's identity against the National Registration Department (JPN) database. The system is designed to enhance security by not storing personal information within the app itself, thereby helping to prevent digital identity fraud and ensuring safe access to Malaysia's digital immigration services. Following the trial period, the integration will also unlock additional MyNIISe functions for registered users. **Planned Nationwide Expansion** The government has outlined plans to progressively expand the MyNIISe and MyDigital ID system to other major entry points. Future phases will include KLIA Terminals 1 and 2, as well as the international airports in Bayan Lepas, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu.
