ICU JPM monitors 500 Kelantan projects worth RM27.46 billion
KOTA BHARU, Jan 15 — The Prime Minister’s Department’s Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU JPM) is monitoring 500 development and infrastructure projects in Kelantan worth RM27.46 billion to ensure timely completion and improve residents' well-being.
ICU JPM director for Kelantan Jasri Kasim said the projects comprise 118 new initiatives and 382 extension projects funded through the Fifth Rolling Plan under the 12th Malaysia Plan.
“Among the projects currently being monitored and implemented are the expansion of Jalan Pasir Hor in Kota Bharu, the development of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP), as well as the upgrading of schools and health clinics,” he told reporters.
Jasri added that the unit is closely monitoring all projects to ensure completion according to schedule.
He said appropriate action will be taken if any delays occur based on the specific issues involved.
The completion of these projects is expected to significantly improve the well-being of Kelantan residents.
Jasri highlighted anticipated benefits in economic growth, social development and employment opportunities.
He was speaking after officiating the “Kampung Angkat MADANI” programme at Kampung Guchil Bayam, which benefits nearly 10,000 residents from four villages.
The programme includes upgrading cemetery fencing, drainage systems, village roads, and providing house repair assistance for underprivileged residents registered under the eKasih system.
Jasri said the programme reflects the MADANI government’s ‘whole-of-government’ approach, emphasising effective coordination among ministries, departments and agencies to meet community needs.
