Khairy Jamaluddin Has Not Submitted Form to Rejoin Umno, Says Secretary-General
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 — Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin has not submitted his form to rejoin the party, according to secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Asyraf confirmed the status in a statement on Friday.
"He has not submitted any form to rejoin Umno," Asyraf said.
Khairy was expelled from Umno in 2023 after being found guilty of breaching party discipline.
His potential return has been a topic of speculation in Malaysian political circles.
Umno is a key component of Malaysia's ruling coalition.
The party has not set a deadline for membership applications.
Asyraf did not provide further details on the matter.
Khairy has not publicly commented on the issue recently.
