Police: No Injuries Found on Taiping Teen in Abuse Claim
Police have confirmed that a thorough inspection revealed no signs of injuries or bruises on the body of a 13-year-old boy in Taiping, Perak, following allegations of abuse that circulated on social media. Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin stated that the examination was conducted at the Taiping Police Station after the teenager was found at the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) station yesterday. Noor Hisam emphasized that there were no indications of abuse on any part of the boy's body, and no police report has been filed regarding the incident. The teenager has since been handed over to his biological father, who resides in the same district. The case gained attention after social media posts alleged that the boy was abused by his stepmother and was attempting to return to his grandfather's residence in Anak Bukit, Kedah. In light of this, Noor Hisam advised the public to exercise responsibility when using social media, urging individuals to refrain from making statements without clear evidence. Separately, he mentioned that police are currently evaluating permit applications for the sale of fireworks, including sparklers, in preparation for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations. This incident highlights the importance of verifying information before sharing it online, as unconfirmed claims can lead to unnecessary alarm and misinformation.
